The images are created using a layered process. Old negatives and prints are sourced in second-hand shops, scanned and then digitally constructed into new images having transformed themes. The images are then inkjet printed on archival paper and coated with a matt resin. Oil paint, acrylics and other media are then applied to the prepared surface. The combination of photographic and painted elements creates a new relationship that explores both visual connections as well as one’s more unconscious responses to the digitally created themes.
